Office Furniture Source is a privately owned, non-aligned contract furniture dealership seeking a full time Project Designer. Our office is centrally located in North Dallas, at Spring Valley Road and Welch. We offer competitive salary and benefits—including 401k, and healthcare. Our 50,000 sq. ft. showroom is open from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. We may have a small team, but our biggest asset is our knowledgeable staff members with 150+ combined years of experience in the industry.

  • Consistent activities utilizing technology and social networking to build relationships
  • Provide design and product solutions that meet client’s functional, aesthetic and budgetary requirements
  • Collaborate with Interior Designers and clients on space planning, product selection, and managing clients’ needs
  • Finely honed attention to detail orientation and ability to project manage as well as multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Consistently building new business through cold calling and maximizing building owners/managers assets
  • Unique ability to convey OFS’s values and brand, positioning to develop and build long-lasting relationships with clients within the community
  • Maintain and grow a sales pipeline
  • Be present at all installations, including evenings and weekends
  • 3+ years proven office furniture sales experience in a B2B environment
  • Experience in sourcing leads and cold calling
  • Charismatic presentation, communication and closing skills

Project Designer at Office Furniture Source

Office Furniture Source is currently seeking a Project Designer with a background in Interior Design to join our growing contract furniture dealership. We believe in producing results that blow our customers away in both design and cost. The Project Designer works with the Design Manager to provide creative and technical support to the Sales/Project team. The Project Designer sees the project through the entire design process: from initial programming, to creating detailed furniture plans, generating accurate specifications for quotation/order entry, compiling comprehensive sales presentations, assisting with finish selections, and helping to resolve any issues during or after installation.


  • Bachelor of Interior Design from a 4 year CIDA Accredited University
  • At least 1-3 years of design experience at a commercial furniture dealership preferred
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD
  • Experience with 2020 CAP Studio preferred
  • Face-to-face customer experience 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite—specifically Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • NCIDQ or TBAE Certification preferred but not required
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • A consistent, systematic approach to design with strong attention to detail and accuracy

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Meet with our company sales representative and the client to gather project requirements, establish project time line, and develop project budget.
Gather field dimensions and prepare accurate base plan drawings as needed.
Assist with furniture inventories for reconfigurations as needed.
Develop creative design concepts and space plans that fulfill client requirements and conform to applicable building codes and ADA requirements.
Draw detailed furniture plans in AutoCAD and include 3D line drawings, renderings, and elevations as required.
Generate accurate furniture specifications for order entry using 2020 Worksheet.
Create PowerPoint presentations to visually portray final furniture selections to client.
Collaborate with the design firm and/or client to coordinate color schemes with material and finish selections that fall within the client’s schedule and budget requirements.
Prepare accurate and detailed installation documents as requested.
Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of a multitude of product lines in order to suggest good-better-best furniture solutions for each project.
Continually research current industry trends and merchandise and maintain the showroom to reflect those trends.
Provide assistance and conduct training for team members when required.
Work with Design Manager in prioritizing, planning and executing several projects efficiently.
